June 27, 2025 - [Detailed explanation] What is Tangerine Fix after all?
Tangerine Fix must be a standard feature of extrox, a kind of respin of MX Linux.
But I still don't understand it. What is an audio enhancer in the first place?
An audio enhancer, or what I call an audio filter, is a magical sound seasoning that makes music sound more pleasant and delicious. Like Ajinomoto. It modifies the original sound, so it is a way of approaching sound quality that has a bad reputation among people who prioritize the original sound.
This time, I will give a detailed explanation of Tangerine Fix.
For Linux, there is a very mysterious app called Easyeffects. This is a software that can load free Linux DTM audio plugins and tweak the knobs. (I haven't checked, but I think it can also load paid plugins.) If you tweak the knobs or parameters, the changed sound will be output. That's all, it's a software whose purpose is too mysterious. I still don't understand what the purpose of this software was.
Although I never received any education in shamisen, as I grew up in a family related to CBS Sony, I grew up with a certain amount of luxury when it came to audio, so when I found out about this software, something clicked.
If you use about three types, LSP, Calf, and soundtouch (or Rubberband), you can cover all the general effects. Hmm...? Isn't this software telling you to make presets? This is... purely theoretical, but it has a wide range of general audio effects available for free, and you can output them almost in real time (although there is a delay). That means... if you can create the strongest preset with this, there is a possibility (practice only) that you can create an effect like Dolby Atmos.
So that's what it is. In that sense, Easyeffects is a "challenge to sound creators."
I realized this and started developing the original presets that are the core of Easyeffects, but it was hell from there on.
At first, it was a type of preset that focused on the mid-high range and discarded the bass. (Freja Ignition series) However, I was forced to try again because of the approach that ignored the bass and the low level of completion. After that, I continued to tinker with a huge number of knobs for about four or five years.
If you change a parameter even a little, the whole sound changes.
Then you have to tweak all the other parameters. Since one part affects the whole, I realized along the way that I needed a sense like assembling "a three-dimensional soft knit that you can't see but can hear".
I don't have that much knowledge about sound, so I rely only on my senses.
Anyway, I got closer step by step to the sound image that I believe is "a comfortable studio sound".
And in the meantime, six full years passed.
I gave it the simple name Tangerine Fix, with the accent color of extrox being orange, and the variety being tangerine, which means "fix".
In fact, around the fourth year of development, at the strong urging of a friend, I contacted JVC KENWOOD and asked them if they would like to try out an audio enhancer for Linux that would be good for in-car audio. Although they politely declined, they responded sincerely. In other words, I believe I have developed a serious audio enhancer that went that far.
I struggled with whether to offer it for a fee or for free. However, in keeping with the spirit of copyleft, I decided to make it free.
I think I have created something for Linux PCs that is comparable to the functions that improve the sound of in-car audio.
The PC OS that will first feature this, "extrox ver2.0.0" (a respin based on MX Linux 25), is scheduled to be released around September of this year, and I am currently waiting for the release of the base MX-25.

23 Jun 2025 - Brand new OS and Audio Enhancer "extrox and Tangerine Fix" Secret Development story
Why did Freja want to make an audio enhancer? The reason is clear. "The original sound is ugly and unbearable to listen to." This may be an unbearable outrage for pure audio lovers, but Freja developed the audio enhancer with that belief.
Needless to say, the extrox OS itself is very unique and extremely mysterious.
Q1: Why did you install an audio enhancer that took six years to develop in MX Linux?
Q2: What is the purpose of the unusually abundant homemade artwork?
Q3: What is the basis for the seemingly flashy UI design?
Q4: Why did you base it on MX Linux?
Each of these has a solid basis and reason.
A1: Listening to music with headphones on a computer, so-called PC audio, should be called the royal road of computers as a hobby. Freja's original experience was with Dolby Home Theater installed on a Sony Windows 7 PC. Beautiful sound expression that shakes off the ugliness of the original sound. This was the impetus for the development of Tangerine Fix. That's why an audio enhancer was essential to position the Linux OS as a hobbyist's computer.
A2/A3: I might be treated like a madman for saying this, but Freja has memories of his past life. In February 2019, his consciousness suddenly came to Japan, and he has no memories of his past life, but instead has clear memories of his past life. I won't go into the details, but I think Freja came from the year 2635. His artwork is a representation of the image from that time in the style of 2025 (!). extrox is a reproduction of the image of "Freja's laboratory OS," which is thought to be a Linux-based OS of the future, and the UI design is based on the feel of an OS that actually exists in the future. (Although Freja's arrangements have been added, it is basically similar to a future OS). This is how the extrox artwork and UI design were completed.
A4: Q4: In this world of OS proliferation, MX Linux is described as the "castle of sanity." Freja has chosen to "build a genuine and clean world view based on clear sanity."
What did you think of the development story? To tell you the truth, I want you to wait for the extrox with Tangerine Fix based on MX-25. I especially want reviewers to wait for the MX-25 base. Have a nice day. I hope tomorrow is a good day for you.

21 Jun 2025 - About recent ISO confuse and repair plan
I tried new MX-23 based ISO make built-in new audio enhancer Tangerine FIx but that's not works fine, and bug report from user so I tried make new fixed ISO. As result, ISO confused sorry for imconvinience.
To explain problems, trixie (MX-25 gen) based Tangerine Fix works well and smoothly. but MX-23 basedTangerine Fix is VERY difficult, So I tried MX-23 based TF but I finally gave up.
Near future ISO plan is bellow.
1. MX-23 based extrox with old audio enhancer "Red Glider VFX". already available.
ISO name - [MX23.6based_FINAL]extrox_ver1.10withRedGliderVFX(OldAudioFilter)-20250621_1741.iso

2. MX-25 based extrox with new audio enhancer "Tangerine Fix" (Probably near Sep)
Past ISO will delete for stop confusing situation.
I had encourge and mind support  from many user, I'll naver give up, I will Present my ideal MX-OS called extrox for the you of world!
